Adding Entertainment Value to Lessons and Literature

ArtWrite Productions aims to help youth enjoy formal education and gravitate toward self-education by slipping fun into lesson materials and literature. We believe that if young people were to find more fun in lessons books and pleasure books at their reading level, like the fun they once found in the picture books of their childhood, they would be drawn to read more. ArtWrite Productions uses humorous storytelling to enhance lessons in the natural and social sciences and, through its imprint Adapted Classics, gallery-worthy illustrations to introduce young people to stories by some of the world’s greatest authors.  Our books capture and hold young readers’ attention by being fun and entertaining, while at the same time challenging them to think and learn.

ArtWrite Productions is a father-son business collaboration founded by Jerome and Paul Tiller in 2003. ArtWrite Productions traces its origins back to a single book, "Sammy's Day at the Fair." The inspiration for the book came from a science project Paul was assigned in the fifth grade. Paul wanted to present the functions and processes of the digestive system in a fun and memorable way. He decided to incorporate the factual content into a fully illustrated, fictional story. Paul’s teacher thought his report was really innovative. In fact, she enjoyed it so much that she suggested that it be published! Jerome reworked the text and expanded the scope of the book to include a pitch for healthy living, and Paul created all-new illustrations. Pre-publication galleys garnered great reviews from award-winning teachers across the nation. In July 2004, their book was published and ArtWrite Productions was born.
